Follow up on my last post
Hey guys,
I just thought that in light of my last post (and all of the comments) I should clear the air a little. I really didn’t expect everyone to get so fired up about this. =) Mark Batterson, (my boss, Pastor and all around great guy) posted a great post today titled Sideways Energy. You should definitely give it a read.
Were studying out of 1 and 2 Timothy in our current sermon series right now. This past week Pastor Mark actually talked about how Paul warns Timothy not to get involved in quarrels and arguments. As disciples of Christ we are called to not quarrel among ourselves. There’s too much work to be done for the good of the kingdom. The church should be about playing offense and not defense. Let’s be known for what were for and not what were against. (that’s played out and people just shut you out when you do that) God’s word says “they’ll know us by our love.” To use Mark’s words “we need to major in majors and minor in minors.” Don’t let the minor things get in the way of us fulfilling what God has us here to do
It’s a good thing that God’s grace and our salvation doesn’t bank on American Idol =)

Way to go Clarky. It’s like Jerry Springer up in here. Only without the midgets and people still have their clothes on. OK, so not exactly like Jerry Springer. Maybe more like an annual church business meeting. OUCH. Trust me, I’ve been to a few. Your man “Kevin” quoting Philipians done dropped the A-bomb on this string. Time for all the haters to take their ball and go home. A little more lovin and a lot more 1 Tim 5:23 – that’s what the good people in the pews need. Drink a little, laugh a lot and just keep on livin people!
