Video Gear

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. But now I am back and at it again.

So I’ve gotten quite a number of emails over the past month asking what equipment/software we use to make our videos here at NCC. So below I will post what we are doing. If there is anything that I don’t cover, just let me know and I will fill in the blanks as best I can.

Cameras
(2) Canon XL1s
(2) Sennheiser EW100 Wireless Mic system

Editing Station
G4 Dual 1.5 Ghz w/2 GB Ram
- 2 internal 250GB Hard Drives
- 2 extrenal Hard Drives (LaCie 400GB and 250GB)
Final Cut Pro HD
Apple Motion
Adobe After Effects
DVD Studio Pro
Sharp Aquos 32″ LCD TV (as Display)
Daewoo DTQ-20U4SC 20″ TV (preview display)
JVC SR-VS30U combo Mini-DV/SVHS deck

For Sundays
All Videos are burned to DVD using iDVD and then sent to each location.

At The Theaters – currently we record the message on one of the Canon XL1s in the 9:30 servce @ Union Station. We use a firewire distribution amplifier and send the firewire signal to a HD/DVD recorder and also another MiniDV deck. The copies are then sent to the services that will be using video later that morning.

Ediorl LVS 400 (video switcher)
Sony Vaio Laptop with Song Show Plus (for song lyrics)
Standard DVD player
DVD/Hard Drive Recorder
JVC SR-VS30U combo Mini-DV/SVHS deck

The Future –
Everything that you see above is about to change here at NCC. As of Februrary we will be launching our Saturday night Coffeehouse location where we will then film the message that night in 1080i High Definition and use that for the video driven services the next day. All of the HD footage will be played off Apple G5 dual 2.0Ghz. that will be at each theater.

If you want to know more about what our setup for HD is going to look like just let me know in the comments and I will post all of the details.
